God’s Glory Bridge of Prayers Dream

First scene: There were two bridges that were shining in a heavenly realm, suspended in the air. The one on the left was a brilliant royal blue and represented answered prayers. The one on the right was a brilliant gold and held some of my unanswered prayers. Those were the prayers I was confident were sealed in heaven and God was in the midst of answering.

The unanswered prayers that weren’t on the bridge were those where my confidence to trust God was wavering. It appeared they were drifting within a black cloud under the bridge.

Last scene: The royal blue bridge was on the left and the gold bridge was on the right, but the two separate bridges were now connected. The bridge shined brighter and sparkled, unlike when each one stood alone. There was no end to either side of the bridge and I had this overwhelming hope that it was time to praise my way to my miracle.

End of dream.

Dream Interpretation:

Gold Bridge on the Right: The gold bridge symbolizes where God stores unanswered prayers. In Revelation, God takes the prayers of his people and stores them in gold bowls. In my dream, I knew those prayers had been answered and I was just waiting to see them come to pass. The gold bridge was also on the right side and this represents where Jesus sits. He’s seated at the right hand of the father, interceding on our behalf. Gold also represents a deity or mercy seat.

“Each one had a harp, and they held gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of God's people.” Revelations 5:8

“...he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.” Romans 8:34

“Then the king made a huge throne, decorated with ivory and overlaid with fine gold.” I Kings 10:18; Exodus 24:10

Two Bridges Become One: Blue and gold in the Bible can often represent heavenly. The dazzling colors were spectacular. When they became one, I saw what I would describe as God’s Glory Bridge; the hope of glory.

“To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27

“Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?” John 11:40

How to Cross Over: I didn’t know what the other side of the bridge, the blue side, looked like and I didn’t know how long it would take me to get there, but I did know it was the “answered prayers” side. At the end of my dream, the instructions I was given to cross over were to praise my way to my promise. I couldn’t see how my prayers were going to be answered but I knew my answer was there.

God is mighty, but he is also personal and approachable. “We can come boldly to the throne of our gracious God,” says Hebrews 4:16, “there we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

We have God’s assurance he’ll answer our prayers, but so often the outcome doesn’t look the way we expect or want. The first step onto the bridge is the moment we begin making our request to God. It is the point when we decide to trust God with our need and commit to prayer with hopeful anticipation.

There was no end to the “blue bridge” because God doesn’t have a limit on how many prayers he answers. There’s never a time to get off God’s Glory Bridge of Prayers. Someone is always in need of prayer. I believe God is answering our pending prayers and new prayers simultaneously. He is a God of unending grace and mercy.

“But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.” John 5:17

“Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.” Matthew 21:21

Unbelief: Some of my prayers were under the bridge, and this represents unbelief. Faithless prayers weren’t on God’s Glory Bridge of Prayers.

According to James, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” James 1:5-8

Wavering between belief and unbelief is basically settling for what is, expecting no change, and risking that your situation will worsen. A step that begins to question and doubt is a step off the bridge where prayers are answered. Your prayers will drift until faith is renewed and you begin to walk the path where God’s promises await, regardless how long the bridge is. (Rather, how long it takes for your prayers to be answered.)

“Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.”  (James 1:7)

Recognize God’s glory. See him for the loving, glorious God he is. Remain in his presence and be confident that in every situation he is with you to the end.

Simply believe God is always working on your behalf from the moment you began asking him. Have faith and courage to cross over to the other side of God’s Glory Bridge, no matter how the length of the journey. Pray and praise your way to the side where God’s promises are fulfilled.
