Harvest Vision

Unlike dreams in the night, visions occur when we are awake. The few visions I’ve had, no explanation was necessary. Instantly I knew the meaning and purpose of the vision. The same happened to my friend, Carol. Carol and her husband, Dan, are Americans currently living in Germany. Unexpectedly, a vision appeared in the sky.

On Friday, October 28, 2016, I (Carol) was waiting outside to meet up with my husband for lunch. It was a beautiful fall day and the colorful trees were absolutely stunning. The autumn chill hadn't yet set in and I was enjoying the fresh air.

I looked up where the white, wispy clouds floated in the blue sky. To my astonishment I saw a cloud that looked like a huge combine machine. I am not a farmer, mainly a city girl, but I knew exactly what it meant. 

HARVEST!

On and off I kept looking at the clouds.

I looked closer at the machine and noticed the combine blades were in the front and appeared very sharp. I recognized the importance that the blades appeared new, silver, and shiny. The blades in the cloud seemed bigger than what is depicted on a real combine.

I knew the Lord was speaking to me through this picture in the sky.

John Sanford describes this type of vision occurring, “when our eyes are fully opened and we see spiritual reality as it is,” (p. 165).

“The days are coming," declares the LORD, ‘when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills’.” Amos 9:13

Several thoughts flooded my mind as to what is taking place around the world for the Kingdom of God.

Germany is a country where there is a plethora of vineyards and harvest season had just come to a close. The grapes were being harvested and new wine being prepared and ready to drink. 

I recalled that many prophets have been saying a great harvest is at hand. Bob Jones prophesied that there would be a billion souls coming to Jesus. 

What resonated for me is that all of my life I’ve wanted to be in the harvest fields, rolling up my sleeves along-side other believers; harvesting souls for Jesus. 

My questions were:

"Is it here God?”

“Is it really here?”

“Am I ready to be in the fields of harvest?” 

My answer was, “yes, I have longed for this for a very long time.”

The threshing floors will be full of grain, and the vats will overflow with the new wine and oil. Joel 2:24

Carol has challenged me. I must not only pray for the harvest, I must be ready to “roll up my sleeves” and harvest the fields for Jesus. Jesus, "said to His disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few'." Matthew 9:37  

I hope we can be like Carol and sincerely say, “Yes, Lord, send me.”
