Cruise Dream - Part One
I pray you are encouraged by this incredible word of the Lord and can grasp how awesome and loving our God is. As the coronavirus spreads acros the globe, “God never leaves us nor forsakes us.” Hebrews 13:5
This is just one short story how God put things into place even before we make plans. “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9
I was conducting a search on my computer when I “discovered” this 2015 dream. I never could have imagined how prophetic this dream was until the details began to unfold five years later. As with any dream, you won’t know if it’s prophetic until God confirms it.
If I were to ever doubt God’s hand over my life, I have this dream to refer back to. For me, it’s indisputable how God’s hand was over my life and he called things into existence long before I knew they existed. As Romans 4:17 states, “He is our example and father, for in God’s presence he believed that God can raise the dead and call into being things that don’t even exist yet.”
Cruise Dream:
Scene one: Rick and I were in Europe. We got into a gold car and were immediately stopped by another gold car. In my mind, I pictured three different colors of gold. As we continued driving, another car pulled out in front of us. I couldn’t see anybody in the car. I said, “we need to go around them because their car is broke down.” I thought perhaps I should get out to help them push their car. I hesitated because I thought, “what if they want to harm me?” (I don’t remember a scene in the dream when the car came to a stop.) “What if they want to highjack the car?” If that’s the case I decided I would take the car keys because they could harm me.
Scene two: We were on a cruise ship and there was someone trying to kill everybody. Someone captured a man and locked him into a big trunk and everything else on the ship. He wore a Halloween mask but looked more like a zombie. Everybody kept checking the latches to make sure he wouldn’t get out.
As we walked through the ship, I saw that he was in a cage with open bars. I knew that I was the only one that could see him in this cage. He was looking at me with evil intent. No words were spoken. I had no fear because I knew he was locked away.
Scene three: While everybody went about their business on the cruise ship, I had this warning to go to the upper deck and play cards. I wanted a table where we could eat and play cards. I found a table where there were three people playing (though I couldn’t see them). They were invisible. An ace of cards showed up and then I realized only aces were at all three places.
End of dream. (November 24, 2015)
I pre-scheduled this blog post to go live March 23, 2020. Soon after, there was a piercing in my spirit that the Lord wanted me to pull it. The following is some of the content that I had included which provided some uncertainties pertaining to the coronavirus (COVID-19):
The news reported on February 7, 2020, that a family on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship was diagnosed with the coronavirus. A few days later I “discovered” a Cruise Dream in my e- journal. As I read through my dream I sat mesmerized at God’s timing. In two months time we will be on a cruise with Royal Caribbean.
Nothing in the dream mentions a virus, but for this dream to surface FIVE YEARS LATER and on the SAME WEEK a cruise liner is docked for a virus outbreak [enemy] that is quickly spreading across continents is not a mere coincidence.
Rick and I are scheduled to depart on April 18, 2020. Was this dream a warning that we are to forego the cruise all together due to the danger once on board? Or, is it that the Lord will protect us once we are on board? Our prayer has been if we aren’t supposed to go, the Lord will shut all doors.
In the event we board the ship and there is the unfortunate news along our 14-day journey to Europe that someone has been diagnosed with COVID-19, we don’t have to board with fears of the coronavirus or any virus for that matter.
As the news increases and worsens, the visual of the enemy locked up only spurs me along in my faith. “I couldn’t be more sure of my ground—the One I’ve trusted in.” 2 Timothy 1:12 MSG
“And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’” Haggai 2:5 NIV.
NOTE: Additional insight that was included in the pre-scheduled post will be provided in a future post.
THE MIRACLE AND FULFILLMENT OF THE DREAM FIVE YEARS LATER
Due to the spreading of COVID-19, the US government announced that all cruise lines would be suspended until April 11, 2020. Our cruise didn’t meet that cut off, therefore, we were still scheduled to set sail to Spain.
When this occurred, the post remained in the queue until I could no longer dismiss that God wanted me to remove it. When I pulled the dream from the schedule, I replaced the Cruise Dream with a message full of scripture to bring hope and encouragement: God Displaces Fear With Peace.
A dream about Rick and I on a cruise, an enemy on board (virus), resurfacing five years later when we are actually scheduled to be on a cruise, is a miracle in and of itself.
Who could have imagined at the time of my dream in 2015 the entire cruise industry would have been shut down. It still seems unimaginable and something out of a science fiction movie. God does not deal in fiction. He is a God of precision. This wasn’t “just a dream.”
It was evident God had gone before us long before we made plans to take a cruise to Spain. Only God could have known the plans we would make during an unprecedented time in history where a pandemic was changing the global landscape of our day-to-day activities.
The miracle in the details of the dream:
I planned on sharing my 2015 Cruise Dream on March 23, 2020, but God put a pause on it. God wants to share his glory with no one. “My name is the Lord! I won’t let idols or humans share my glory and praise.” CEV
The original post was to go live one day before I received an email from Royal Caribbean stating that our cruise was canceled. I posted God Displaces Fear With Peace on March 23, 2020 and on March 24, 2020 we received an official cancellation from Royal Caribbean. “After further review, we have decided to extend our global suspension...Regrettably, that means, your upcoming Rhapsody of the Seas April 18, 2020 cruise, will be cancelled. “ (Tue, Mar 24, 9:09 PM)
The significance of this is threefold:
Five years to the month, God reminded me of the dream (February 2015, 2020)
Five years after the dream the world heard about COVID-19 (enemy) on board a cruise liner (February 2015 - February 2020)
God cancelled the cruise (March 24, 2020), five years and one month to the day of the dream (February 24, 2015)
The cancellation was official. The dream was prophetic and it was God who brought all things to light and fruition in amazing detail. I wanted to share my Cruise Dream on March 23 and God said, “wait.”
The detail of God’s hand over our lives is always remarkable, but when he brings things to light on specific dates and in sequence, he only reinforces the miracle of his protective hand. Whether or not we boarded the ship, God would protect us. This dream provided a continual peace in the waiting. He is to be glorified.
Our days are continually changing, as I know yours must be too. What Rick and I thought might transpire in 2020, as noted in Destiny Car Dream, was totally disrupted due to COVID-19. God asked us to surrender and that we did, it just looked different than what we anticipated. This dream is a beautiful reminder to trust that God has already put his plans in place for each of us. “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9
