Bow and Arrow Dream
Angel and Jordan moved from India to Germany 2-1/2 months prior to this dream. Angel has been having dreams since the age of five. She felt in her spirit there was a reason, a message, but she never had a teaching if and how God uses dreams.
She is learning to listen to God in the night, journal her dreams, pray for them, and wait for God’s instructions. I believe this dream and how it was interpreted will encourage you to look and listen to God at all times.

I was running around with a bow, searching for arrows. My father was with me and interrogating me, though I don’t recall what it was about. A young boy was also helping us find arrows. We were in a wrecked or broken building where everything was shattered.
End of dream
I had this dream the day before my birthday. Upon waking up I didn’t properly understand it. I thought it was an incomplete dream that was triggered in my subconscious by my activities the day before.
Joseph’s Dreams & God’s Instructions post on Teresa’s blog taught me how God sometimes uses our daily activities to speak to us in dreams in the night. Therefore, I wrote what I remembered and kept this dream on hold.
The following day (on my birthday) my husband and I went to an English speaking church where we had a wonderful time. After the closing prayer, I saw pastor praying for people.
Interpretation of the dream:
We had never met the pastor before, but I felt, “I want to get prayed for too.” Pastor took us aside and started praying for us.
The first message he received from the Lord was: “I see an arrowhead.” I was stunned, “this can’t be true!”
In that moment I could barely believe what I was hearing and that God was revealing and providing the interpretation of my dream through a man I had never met. The Bible says “God’s thoughts are higher than ours.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Pastor continued to pray.
“I see one arrowhead. One-half is Jordan and the other half is me (Angel). You are joined together with a divine fusion; a divine connection. Solidified.”
“The arrow isn’t meant to be in the quiver, even though it’s been in the quiver for quite some time. The Lord is taking the arrow from the quiver and you must prepare yourselves to be set on the flight. God is now stretching His hand to take the arrow from the quiver.”
Teresa interpreted more of the dream and explained that Psalm 64 is a promise and prayer strategy. When I read Psalm 64, once again, I was amazed how God was using someone to help me understand the meaning of this dream.
Psalm 64
O God, listen to my complaint. Protect my life from my enemies’ threats. Hide me from the plots of this evil mob, from this gang of wrongdoers. They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows. They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly. They encourage each other to do evil and plan how to set their traps in secret. “Who will ever notice?” they ask. As they plot their crimes, they say, “We have devised the perfect plan!” Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.
But God himself will shoot them with his arrows, suddenly striking them down.
Their own tongues will ruin them, and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn. Then everyone will be afraid; they will proclaim the mighty acts of God and realize all the amazing things he does. The godly will rejoice in the Lord and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.
My father was interrogating me and because he is my father and pastor, I’m under his spiritual authority. It is good for him to question me, especially in regard to my ministry.
A rundown building needs attention and represents ministry to the lost and broken, but also how my father needs a protective covering over his ministry. Jordan and I are part of his protective and covering.
This scene is a beautiful prayer strategy to pray for my father, his ministry, and how we will work together to seek the tools of God. We are not only seeking God for the tools, God is saying we are the tools (arrow). We can be bold for God and know that “no weapon formed against us will prosper.” Isaiah 54:17
We also believe the meaning of the dreams represents those that may come against God’s work (my father’s ministry). They will be “shot” with an arrow by God (that is me and Jordan). We couldn’t find the arrow because we are the arrow. We are the arrowhead, meant to be more deadly to demolishes the attacks of the enemy.
We can help stand in the gap for his pastoral leadership to continue doing the work of God. No matter what comes our way, God will silence those coming against him and “suddenly.” Psalm 64:7.
I believe in my spirit pastors prayer and prophetic vision confirms that the time for God to use the “arrow” is not far and we must prepare ourselves for that. We are the arrow in God’s hand.
My scripture promise for this year on my promise card is Isaiah 61:7. The first sentence states, “Instead of shame you shall have double honour.” I feel this is connected to this dream and is part of the interpretation, and prophetic word over our lives.
Angel’s dream is a beautiful example of the importance to not dismiss a dream as “just a dream.” It wasn’t a long dream, but it has a powerful message and God confirmed the purpose and a prayer strategy in a miraculous way.
God used man to reveal the meaning of her dream, but it is because she has a relationship with Jesus Christ that the Spirit of God confirmed spiritual truths. I Corinthians 2:13-14
“This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:13-14).”
They have a promise from God to hold onto no matter what attacks the enemy throws their way. They can stand confidently knowing that God will move suddenly on their behalf.
